About Me and My Blog

So who am I and what is this blog all about?

Summary:
My name is Bobby and I'm a 23 year old English Ex-Pat living in Bergen, Noways second city. I live here with my Norwegian girlfriend Marianne who I met while studying at the University of Chester in England.

It has taken a while to truly focus on exactly what this blog is and what I will be writing about and how often but now I have found a rhythm I can tell you so you know if this will be of regular interest to you and if you want to follow my updates.

The main purposes of this blog are:
- To look back on and re-live the journey myself
- An outlet for me to discuss thinks I find interesting, funny, annoying or frustrating
- A way of friends and family back home to follow how I'm getting on
- Possibly most of all I hope this is of interest and help to others.

My posts typically fall into two categories:
- The first and probably most common are anecdotal posts pointing out something, strange, interesting or just in some way noteworthy I have experienced or encountered in Norway. Some of these are specific things about Bergen but many are applicable for all of Norway I feel and maybe even broader to include other parts of Scandinavia or of interest to any traveller. My measure of strange is usually in comparison to what was my norm so I draw a lot of comparisons to growing up in England which I hope adds another interesting aspect to my posts.

- The second most common type of posts are more personal where I discuss the trials and tribulations of moving to a new country in more depth. This includes stuff about; finding jobs, learning the language, making friends, and my general mood. I try to always remain positive however I find it both helpful to myself and hopefully for others if every now and then I open up a little and note the more joyous and difficult parts of my journey. I do try my very best to avoid moaning but that cant always be helped

How often do I post?
Naturally this can be incredibly varied however I try to average out at once a week, or around 3 a month. Those going through the back catalogue will notice some big gaps but I always try to make up for this with more frequent posts afterwards. It generally all depends on how much time I have, but hopefully there is always enough in the back catalogue to keep people entertained.

If you have any questions or topics you'd like me to discuss please comment on any post and I will always get back to you! I hope you enjoy my blog :)

  3. Hi Bobby,
My name is Natalie Sullivan and I'm casting an international travel show about expats moving abroad. We'd love to film in Norway and wanted to know if you could help us find expats who have moved there within the last 15 months or have been there for 3-4 years, but recently moved into a new home. The show documents their move to a new country and will place the country in fabulous light. The expats on the show would also receive monetary compensation if they are filmed. They must also speak English fluently and can be buyers or renters for their homes. If you'd like more information, please give me a call at 212-231-7717 or skype me at natalieesullivan. You can also email me at nataliesullivan@leopardusa.com. Looking forward to hearing from you.
